Game: ARIA

This is a Game project I did for school together with a wonderful team. I was mostly in charge of the 2d assets.
Please scroll down to see all the animations i did for the game!

Aria is a short adventure game with 2d and 3d elements mixed. Aria, the main character, is a young violist who lives in a forest. One day, she encounters a small creature she names Alto. Alto is a shapeshifter who loves music as well, and shape shifts to a violin for Aria to play on whenever she needs it.

These are some experiments i did for Aria's color pallete. Since our environment was very orange, I felt like Aria could use complementary colors so she would pop out more, but as a team we decided the red haired aria fitted her personality the most.

Concept art for the main character Aria. We wanted Aria to be a young playful character.

Here i did some environment concept sketches to get a general feel of how the game is going to be like. Since its a musical game, we wanted to incorporate some musical elements in the environment, like the xylophone bridge and the tambourine tree trunks.

Short animation reel! I really had fun animating these Designing these characters i worked togheter with Idsander Vroom

This is a cutscene i made that i'm very proud of. We only had little time so i really had to rush this, i made some screenshots of the game and used those as a background for my animation. To save time I animated by re-using and distorting assets.
